The 2016 Miss German-America court was crowned on May 15th! Rebecca Koehler has been named this year’s Miss German-America, after having served as Princess on last year’s court. Her Princesses are Oona Yasukevich and Michaela Stuart. Each member of the court is generously awarded scholarship money by the Steuben Parade Committee ($5,000 for the Queen, $2,500 for each Princess).  During their reign, the Court represents the German-American community through television appearances in the U.S. and abroad, special honors at the Steuben Parade Gala, and of course, a place of honor on the parade float during the German-American Steuben Parade in New York City on Fifth Avenue on September 17th.

Each of the ladies has shown tremendous dedication to their German-American heritage as well as philanthropic engagement in their local communities. Each is pursuing higher education and is thrilled to be a member of this year’s court.

A junior court was also crowned consisting of three Junior Princesses and a Junior General. 13240548_10206404701985077_4374361836364403000_nThe Junior Princesses are Katherina Anneliese Stropnicky, Kaete Margot Weinseiss and Freida O’Purk. This year’s Junior General is Franz O’Purk.
