Being a member of Miss German America’s court in 2024 was a wonderful experience that I will never forget. Attending all of the events throughout the summer and fall seasons were memorable and fun. The events in June and July, mainly held at Plattdeutsche Park, were really enjoyable. We sold cornflowers throughout the day, which gave us the privilege of meeting new people, and promoting our German heritage at the same time. Parade weekend in September was an amazing experience that I will never forget. The greeting of the groups from Germany was a very memorable experience, as was watching all of the performances and meeting fellow Germans. The gala was joyous. I especially remember taking beautiful pictures with a sunset and dancing the night away to music by Die Heimatklange. It was incredible to be on a float down 5th avenue after kicking off the day with a nice breakfast all together. I will never forget waving to my fellow German friends as the float traveled down the avenue. I truly felt like a princess, smiling and waving to everyone passing by. After the parade, we waved to all of the other groups from Germany and America, celebrating our beautiful culture.

Although the events were fun, the aspect I was most thankful for was getting to know the amazing people I spent time with. Spending time with Miss German America, Isabella Caico, and Princess Gillian was wonderful. We have many memories together and became close friends. We are all extremely proud to be German Americans and share our culture together. Whether dancing the Fliegerlied at Plattdeutsche Park or eating our favorite German foods, we shared our culture and had the best time together.

My experience on the Miss German America Court was incredible and I hold many memories with my German friends and family. I am grateful to have a supportive and loving family that attended most of the events with me and made my year so special. My parents, sister, Oma and Opa were always there to support me, attending many of the events and helping me with anything I needed. I hope the next court has an incredible and memorable time, and I wish them all the best! I am excited to march in the next German American Steuben parade in September, continuing to represent my beautiful culture.
