In response to the recent announcement by Mayor DeBlasio that all large events requiring a NYC events permit are being cancelled through September 30 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the German-American Steuben Parade Committee is saddened to announce that the 63rd Annual German-American Steuben Parade in its traditional format has been cancelled for 2020. Also cancelled are Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 9 AM prior to the Parade, the Oktoberfest in Central Park, which would have taken place immediately following the 63RD Annual Steuben Parade, and the Black Tie Gala previously scheduled to take place on Friday, September 19, 2020 at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers.
An alternative to the live march up Fifth Avenue is currently in development. A virtual 63rd Annual German-American Steuben Parade will be hosted by the Steuben Parade Committee on Saturday, September 19, 2020 dedicated to First Responders and Essential Workers throughout the world and their tireless efforts during the Covid-19 crisis. Join us on Saturday, September 19th for the virtual 63rd Annual German-American Steuben Parade streaming on YouTube, Facebook and our website!
